What SiteTella processes

SiteTella processes the WordPress content a site owner selects for indexing, visitor chat messages, generated responses, source references, and service usage data. Signed-in visitors can also send their WordPress user ID and role names so the site can apply its own access rules.

Why this data is used

The data is used to answer questions, retrieve relevant site content, continue a visitor’s conversations, run approved site actions, protect the service, and measure service use.

Visitor identity and continuity

The WordPress plugin uses a random first-party cookie so a visitor can continue their own conversations. A keyed, pseudonymous visitor reference derived from that cookie is sent to SiteTella; the cookie value itself is not sent.

AI and infrastructure providers

SiteTella runs on Cloudflare. Managed AI requests use Cloudflare Workers AI and Cloudflare AI Gateway. A site owner can instead configure a supported bring-your-own-key provider. The selected provider can process chat messages, retrieved content, tool context, and generated responses. If a site owner configures a remote MCP service, that service can also process the inputs and outputs of its allowed tools under its own terms.

Site owner controls

Site owners choose what content is indexed, configure conversation retention, control assistant abilities, and can request remote deletion when the WordPress plugin is removed. Site changes require explicit approval.
